Fall in the Mountains
October will be here before you know it and with it will come beautiful Fall colors. Evidently, the recent drought we have been experiencing will be good for leaf lovers. It does get very busy here in October, though, so book your trip soon!

Looking Glass Rock
The Land Where Water Falls
Our waterfalls are getting recharged by the remnants of Tropical Storm Faye. We have been suffering a severe drought in Western North Carolina for almost 2 years, so wells, springs, streams and resevoirs are all running low. But even with low flow, our waterfalls are still spectacular. The 6'' of rain that are predicted for us during a 3 day period shouldn't cause any flooding problems, but will help our farmers, residents who depend on well and spring water and bring even more beauty to the waterfalls.

Ever seen a white squirrel???
Here in Brevard, NC (Transylvania County) we are known for more than our waterfalls. We are also very proud of some of our hairier residents...white squirrels! A separate breed of squirrel, not albinos, they live within just a few square miles near the downtown area.
